Thank you, Uwe, for laying out the underlying & ongoing imperialism & summarizing Matthew Ehret's (huge) historical insight in such a crystal-clear way.

I'll refrain from comments on those who perceive in Trump a sort of freedom fighter. This misguided notion speaks to the need for a historical perspective (same is true for Clinton, Biden, or Obama). Listening to Stella Assange's words, it is clear that the US or that county's intelligance/deep state seem (so far) committed to a huge overreach - and that is putting it mildly. FREE ASSANGE!

Now I will listen to this opera in a different way. Moving people towards the pursuit of justice through art, one more example. Thank you.

Wow! It's both hard to believe and very sad, that in 2024 there are still some people to whom it's not crystal clear that Wikileaks /Assange is a limited hangout /Intel operation. This means that these people buy into the entire Bradley Manning theater, Assange's ridiculous brush off of the subject of 9/11, the story that he was living in the Embassy of Equador for all of those years and is in prison today, and also the blatant theater that took place on the day of his 'arrest', among many, many, other things that would take way too long to list here. Though this is far from a 'blame it all on the Freemasons' comment, to believe in the veracity of that 'arrest', one would have to ignore the fact that Assange walked out of the Embassy and to the waiting police vehicle, straight down the middle of two giant number "3"s (for the omnipresent Masonic 33) at No. 3 Hans Cresent! A 'conspiracy nut' might even hazard a guess that the address of the Embassy played at least a small part in the fact that it was chosen to host the Assange spectacle. It would no doubt be pointless to suggest that the sleeping people being referred to here, might just want to shake themselves awake for a few minutes, or for whatever time it takes to give their convictions about Assange a second thought, but once those blinders are tightly fitted around the eyes, it would take ten or twenty crowbars to pry them off. Who has time for that, though, especially since believing in fairytales is so much more fun!

Thank you for one, for this article, but now I begin another journey of discovery listening more intently to Beethoven and his work :)

Well, here is my bit of artiness about Assange. https://adultsincharge.blog/2023/01/18/sacral-man/

I do not like Assange. He is not what most of his following think he is. rather, a libertarian, the opposite of liberation. So I do not like the martyr cult built up around him. These kind of things do not lead to good outcomes.

Of course, I have no particular issue with Lafayette or with Beethoven. I do not think anything about them should be conflated with Assange.
